Fisher's Hat

"When I was climbing the Blue Mountain peak in Jamaica," Sir Frederic Fisher once recalled, "the wind was very strong and when I stopped to be photographed my hat blew off and disappeared down a precipice. Realising that it would be impossible to recover it, we started the return journey and towards evening, when we halted at a coffee estate, I was amazed to see a turkey buzzard about to settle on the roof of a house with my hat in its claws. Upon being frightened by us the bird dropped the hat, which I immediately recovered."
