One day while campaigning for the U.S. Senate (in February 2000), Hillary "It Takes a Village" Clinton delivered a speech in which she lamented the sorry fact that New York's farmers were "really hurting these days."

She and her motorcade then stopped for breakfast at the Village House, a favorite diner in Albion (an upstate farming town), where she enjoyed two orders of scrambled eggs, home fries, and rye toast. Her breakfast, said the restaurant, was on the house.

Clinton, who once declared a 15-cent income-tax deduction for a pair of her husband's underwear which had been donated to a charity, then left the waitress (a single mother on minimum wage)... no tip.
