One morning Calvin Coolidge's wife Grace decided to surprise her husband by hanging a portrait of the president, which she had secretly commissioned, in the White House library.

Soon enough, Coolidge entered the library accompanied by a senator. The men gazed at the painting for a moment in silence. Coolidge then turned to his companion and wryly remarked, "I think so, too."
