Paderewski

While attending the 1919 Paris Peace Conference as Poland's new leader, Paderewski was introduced to his French counterpart, Georges Clemenceau: "Are you a cousin of the famous pianist Paderewski?" Clemenceau asked playfully. "I am the famous pianist," Paderewski replied. "And you have become prime minister?" Clemenceau exclaimed. "What a comedown!"
