Meat Loaf, who sustained no fewer than seventeen concussions over the course of his career, was remarkably accident-prone, even for an antic rocker. After accidentally falling off the stage during a concert in Toronto in 1978, he broke his leg and had to finish the tour in a wheelchair.
He was still at it more than 25 years later. "A London hospital reported that pop singer Meat Loaf is being treated for exhaustion after collapsing on stage," Conan O'Brien reported in January 2004. "Doctors say that Meat Loaf is fine, but that they'll never be able to fix the stage."
