Pressing On

When, at the end of his term in office, Calvin Coolidge declined to run for reelection, reporters persistently asked him why. Indeed, one pesky journalist literally pressed him for information, jumping in front of him to block his path. "Exactly why don't you want to be president again, Mr. Coolidge?" he demanded. "Because," replied the president, brushing him aside, "there's no chance for advancement."
