While studying at UCLA, future Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis was hassled by a persistent female admirer. After several unsuccessful attempts to dissuade her, he finally hatched a simple plan. Having invited her to his room, he appeared before her, wearing nothing but a strategically placed tube sock. The horrified girl -- and Kiedis' problem -- promptly disappeared.
[The sock gag later became a regular part of the band's stage show.]
