Study in Irony

The famed French novelist Andre Gide once moved into a new home in Normandy equipped with a magnificent study containing every possible amenity. Shortly thereafter, he was visited by a cousin, who was surprised to find him working at a folding table in the hall. "The new study is much too comfortable," Gide explained. "I simply can't work there."
