Joel Silver

The fast-talking blockbuster producer Joel Silver was parodied in several films, among them Grand Canyon (1991), True Romance (1993), and I'll Do Anything (1994). Silver even spoofed himself in Disney's Who Framed Roger Rabbit by playing the frustrated cartoon director in the film's opening sequence. Disney's lot, however, was one of many from which Silver, famous for his run-ins with studio executives, had been banned. In order to shoot the scene, Silver had to sneak onto the lot (using an alias), and his onscreen credit was not revealed to Disney executives until the very last minute.
