Many of his closest associates sincerely believed that the composer Jean Sibelius was a psychic. "He is sitting quietly reading a book or newspaper," his wife once recalled. "Suddenly he becomes restless, goes to the radio, turns the knobs, and then one of his symphonies or tone-poems comes out of the air."
