Bush's Poodle

British Prime Minister Tony Blair was harshly criticized for his support of George W. Bush in general and of the American-led war in Iraq in particular. Indeed, Blair was routinely called "Bush's poodle," a label which prompted complaints -- from the UK Poodle Council!

["Where Mr. Blair is an intellectual lawyer with an earnest interest in social responsibility," the Financial Times proclaimed in 2001, "Mr. Bush is a former oil executive with an earnest interest in baseball statistics."]
