Legendary weightlifter (and three-time "World's Stongest Man") Bill Kazmaier, who once dropped an 80 pound dumbbell on his foot and didn't break a single bone, was famed for his toughness. In 1988, his triceps ripped completely from the bone. Four months later, he used the same arm to set a strongman record (375 pounds) in the log press.
["I once tore a hamstring while squatting," Kaz recalled of another occasion. "I wrapped it up and went heavier. And then I tore the other one. I just kept going heavier. Nowadays, athletes are more cautious with their bodies. Not me. I had an attitude."]
