At the 1989 Masters Tournament, Scott Hoch found himself on the 10th green of a playoff with Nick Faldo. He had only to sink a two foot putt for the win. "Who am I going on with tomorrow morning," he asked himself as he hit the ball, "Bryant Gumbel or the other guy?"
The answer? Neither. Hoch missed the putt and lost the tournament on the next hole.
["When the putt missed," he recalled, "it was more like, 'Wait a minute, Destiny doesn't happen like this...'"]
