Di Vicenzo's Scorecard

"The most famous gaffe in major championship [golf] history was registered by Argentinean Roberto Di Vicenzo. He signed a scorecard for one stroke higher than he actually shot in the final round of the 1968 Masters. Under the rules, that score was posted and he wound up losing by one shot.

"His reaction was priceless. 'What a stupid I am,' DiVicenzo said."
