While shooting an episode of "Star Trek" one day, Leonard Nimoy was directed to sneak up behind a character and knock him out by whacking him on the head with a gun. Nimoy objected that a Vulcan would never be so crude and proposed an alternative. The improvisation was a hit and soon became a regular maneuver: the Vulcan nerve pinch.
[Nimoy appropriated Spock's hand gesture from a rabinical blessing.]
[Leonard Nimoy released a number of albums. Among his songs? "Love of the Common People," "Proud Mary," and... "Highly Illogical!"]
