While having lunch with a publisher one day in 1941, famed French pilot, adventurer and author Antoine de Saint-Exupery picked up a napkin and began doodling a picture of a small boy. "Who's that?" the publisher asked. "Oh," Saint-Exupery replied, "just a little fellow I carry around in my heart."
When the publisher suggested that he write a book about the little fellow, Saint-Exupery agreed to try. The Little Prince, a fairy tale classic, was published in 1943.
