During a tragic Siegfried & Roy show at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas in 2003, Roy Horn was mauled by Montecore, one of the team's Siberian tigers. Mirage owner Steve Wynn was quick to exonerate the tiger, placing the blame firmly upon on a distraction during the show. The source of the alleged distraction? A group of "big-haired women" in the front row who were trying to pet Montecore.
[According to Wynn, when Roy tripped over his paw, the distracted tiger tried to pick the magician up and carry him off like a cub.]
