One day a pothead roadie told Fred Durst and his bandmates that his stoned brain felt like a limp biscuit. The band loved the name and promptly adopted it as their very own.

Only later did they discover the term's cruder connotations. "In Australia," guitarist Wes Borland once explained, "there's a game called 'soggy biscuit,' but they call it 'limp biscuit' too. It's played by teenage boys, and they have a circle jerk on a biscuit or a piece of bread, and whoever comes last has to eat the bread!"
