In March 2003, Teamtalk CEO David Ware and the chief executive of MCS Digital found themselves unable to reach an agreement on access to a mobile radio network in New Zealand.

As the $200,000 dispute was headed for the courts, the two firms agreed to an unusual form of corporate mediation: Ware and his rival settled the argument in a best-of-three arm-wrestling match.
