"This is done as a memorial to the people who lost their lives in the Twin Towers that fateful day," Moffat explained. "This is in no way a financial or political statement, but a remembrance of the lost men and women due to a senseless act of violence."
Moffat, who set a world record in December 2003 with 900 needles in 4 1/2 hours, was no stranger to pain -- or stupidity. "Moffat has endured half a lifetime of pain," the Guinness (world records) website reported, "since accidentally shooting himself in the stomach with a .22 caliber rifle as a teenager."
