Richard Tydeman: Wedding Rehearsal
"I had been conducting a wedding rehearsal in Church with the bride and groom, going through the service and answering questions," Richard Tydeman once recalled. "The couple were just leaving afterwards, when the groom came back. 'By the way,' he said, 'will you put the word "obey" in the bride's promise?' 'Well,' I said, 'we usually omit it nowadays, but of course I will put it in if you want it.' 'Oh,' said the groom, 'I'm not bothered myself; but she wants it put in, and I always do what she says.'"
