While writing for Sid Caesar's "Your Show of Shows," Mel Brooks was very serious about his work. Indeed, he once tried to throw a punch at Caesar himself. "This time, I will let you live," Caesar announced. "If you feel that strongly about the joke, I'll put it in the script." Some time later, Brooks had another run-in with his boss -- who was feeling less charitable than before. Sid's response? He dangled Brooks unside-down from a hotel window.
