Adam Brody first decided to embark on an acting career while working at Blockbuster and living with a roommate in what he called "the smallest apartment in Santa Monica." How small was it? Brody had to borrow his brother's bunk beds because there was no room for two beds. Even worse? "We had to take turns eating," he recalled, "because only one person [could sit down]... there wasn't enough room for two chairs!"
