In July 2000, a federal judge granted a request by alleged mobster Vincent Marino (alias Gigi Portalla) to be told whether the Drug Enforcement Administration had implanted a tracking device in his bottom. For years Marino believed that a bug had been installed surreptitiously during surgery to remove a bullet from his buttocks. The DEA formally denied the charge, adding, "We cannot speak, however, for any extraterrestrial beings."

[In 1997, Kevin Caes of Clarksville, Tennessee, blamed the abduction and rape of a woman whom he had held prisoner for a month on an all-powerful "Cosmic Intelligence Agency" which, he said, controls everyone on Earth and had implanted a microchip in his ass.]
