In August 2002, German DJ Frank Niessen set a world record by presenting his three-hour-long radio show from the bottom of a swimming pool. Technicians said the show had gone well with one minor hitch: Niessen sounded like Kermit the Frog.

[Niessen wore a lead belt, lead shoes, and SCUBA equipment. His guests dived to the bottom of the pool to be interviewed and his scripts were kept dry in watertight covers. "As yet," a Guinness spokeswoman declared before the attempt, "we don't have a current record for this."]
