In September 2003, Gary "Bananaman" McGrogan and four other colorful "Pop Idol" rejects
(Daniel, Morwenna, Andrew, and Hayley) announced that they had formed a band to help launch a new McDonald's campaign with a single -- "I'm lovin' It" -- featuring guest vocalist (and former N'Sync member) Justin Timberlake. The band's members were undetered by the jokes about their lack of talent. Indeed, they made one themselves: The band's name? Outta Sync!
["Watch out Simon Cowell," McGrogan declared, "the banana is back! Outta Sync is living proof that sometimes pop fame is not just about talent -- it's all about entertaining and just lovin' it and we're certainly doing that!"]
