In September 2002, Nashville-based documentary filmmaker Bart Sibrel ambushed legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin outside a Beverly Hills hotel with accusations that Apollo 11 had never actually landed on the moon and that moonwalk footage had been fabricated to trick the Russians into believing they had lost the space race. Sibrel even asked Aldrin to swear on a Bible that he had actually been to the moon. Aldrin's response? The 72-year-old retired astronaut promptly punched his accuser square in the face.
[Sibrel later pressed charges.]
