During a speech before the British Institute of Meat one evening, Food Manufacturer's Association President Frank Shires related the following story:

"A new employee of a dairy dashed into a lavatory and was about to hurry out afterwards when the manager drew his attention to a notice: 'Wash your hands before working.' The youth replied, 'It's all right. I'm going to lunch.'"
