Billy Ray Cyrus auditions for David Lynch

Country crooner Billy Ray Cyrus, who played Gene (a home-wrecking pool cleaner) in David Lynch's bizarre film Mulholland Drive, recalled having auditioned for the role under suitably unusual circumstances. "I guarantee you," he explained, "I'm the only guy ever to read for a David Lynch movie with two stolen chickens sitting in his agent's Porsche." Stolen chickens? Cyrus had saved the birds from imminent death by "liberating" them from a local zoo.
