Joe Pesci acceptance speech

Upon winning an Academy Award for his role as Tom DeVito in Martin Scorsese's classic gangster film Goodfellas (1990), Joe Pesci delivered one of the shortest acceptance speeches in Oscar history: "This is an honor and a privilege," he declared. "Thank you." Pesci was later asked why he hadn't said a little more. Explained the actor: "I really didn't think I was going to win!"
