James II: Roundabout Revenge

King James II of Scotland narrowly avoided getting the clap. Having discovered that his wife was having an affair with James (then the Duke of York), the Earl of Southesk plotted a roundabout revenge.

According to the contemporary Memoirs of the Life of the Count de Grammont, "He went to the most infomous places to look for the most infamous disease. He met with it, but yet was but half reveng'd: For, after he had gone through the grand Remedy, in order to get rid of it, his Lady did but restore him his Present, having no more Commerce with the Person for whom it was industriously prepar'd."
