Longest basket in NCAA history

While playing with Virginia Tech, Les Henson appeared in a memorable game against Florida State one day. With two seconds on the clock and the score tied at 77, Henson grabbed a Florida rebound and threw the ball down the court. "It was eerie -- you couldn't hear a thing in the arena," Henson later recalled. "Then it just swished through the hoop" -- from 89 feet, 3 inches away, making it the longest basket in NCAA history. The kicker? Henson, a left-handed shooter, had done it with his right hand.
