Oscar Lang works as William Wellman's third assistant

Early in his career, Otto Lang worked as director William Wellman's third assistant. Among his responsibilities on the set of The Ox-Bow incident (1943) was ensuring that the horses were properly arranged and directed, and that their numbers and colors matched shots taken on the day before. One day he was asked what he was doing. "I'm counting horses' asses," Lang replied. "That's my job!"
