Dale Earnhardt, Jr was once asked whether he had ever been given driving lessons from his father, the legendary NASCAR racer Dale Earnhardt. "Yeah... when I got my permit, when I was 15," Earnhardt, Jr replied, "I was riding around with my step-mother and I dropped the wheel off the road -- no big deal -- you just kind of keep going... I didn't think it was a big deal, but he found out about it and he was like, 'That's huge! What are you doing! Come on, get in the truck.' So we go down the road, and he's like, 'This is how you do it: If you roll off the road, you don't jerk it back on the road,' and the car goes out of control and he almost loses it! And go goes, 'See what happens!'"
["I got enough lessons," Earnhardt, Jr recalled, "he scared the hell out of me!"]
[Earnhardt's nickname? "The Intimidator."]
