Last Resort

The British ski jumper Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards, famed for his valiant performance in the 1988 Olympics, once lived in a mental institution. It was the only place he could afford to pay rent.

[Eddie came dead last in the 1988 Olympics, scoring just half the points of his closest competitor. Even so, he easily qualified for the Olympics; he was the only competitor who attempted to qualify and, until 2002, was the only British Olympic ski jumper in history.]
