One day during the filming of Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark, Harrison Ford prepared himself for a fight scene with a "swordsman in black" -- an Eastern warrior brandishing an enormous scimitar. Though the script called for a prolonged battle, Ford and Spielberg decided to have Indy draw his gun and "just shoot the guy."

The rest of the crew thought the idea was hilarious and the scene -- which many fans believe to be the film's best -- was duly shot. Only later did they learn the real reason behind the change: Harrison had quietly asked Spielberg if the scene could somehow be shortened -- because he was suffering from a bout of diarrhea.

[Honored for his work with the environment, Ford was once invited to name a new breed of butterfly. He named it Georgia, after his daughter. (A Central American ant, Peidole harrisonfordi, was also named in his honor.)]
