Lusty Johnson

During his tour of the Hebrides, Dr. Johnson attended a party held in his honor. At one point, he found himself sitting with a lovely married girl of sixteen on his knee.

Having been challenged by some other girls, who thought him too ugly for any woman to kiss, to prove them wrong, the girl put her arms around his neck and deposited a delicate peck on his cheek. "Do it again," he said, "and let us see who will tire first."

[Johnson, a great friend of famed actor David Garrick, was frequently invited to the latter's rehearsals at his theater, where the writer met many young thespians. Although he greatly enjoyed their company, Johnson one day told Garrick that he would no longer go back stage. Why? "The silk stockings and white bosoms of your actresses excite my amorous propensities."]
