Bedfellows?

Toward the end of Ronald Reagan's presidency, Vice President George Bush, famed for his many verbal bloopers, sought to sum up the administration's legacy:

"For seven and a half years I've worked alongside President Reagan," he declared. "We've had triumphs. Made some mistakes. We've had some sex... uh... setbacks..."

[Kevin Phillips once called Bush "a Boy Scout with a hormone imbalance" and Jim Hightower, in 1988, commented that "if ignorance ever goes to $40 a barrel, I want drilling rights on George Bush's head."]
