One day Samuel Goldwyn called rival studio chief Darryl Zanuck to arrange to borrow an actor who was under contract to Twentieth Century Fox. Told by his secretary that Zanuck was in a meeting, Goldwyn demanded that she call him away immediately.

At last, Zanuck came to the phone. "Yes, Darryl?" Goldwyn began. "What can I do for you today?"
