Jean-Marie Le Pen: Acropolis Visit

In 1947, Jean-Marie Le Pen (the future xenophobic leader of France's far right) made his first trip to Greece to visit the tomb of French Baron Pierre De Coubertin. But Le Pen also made another stop:

"I spent the night in the Parthenon," he recalled years later, "and as no-one else was around I took my clothes off and started running about [the Acropolis in Athens]... I did what the ancient Greek athletes used to do, running in the nude, and it made me feel like a Greek God."
