Big Chill

After struggling for several years, Kevin Costner finally caught a break in 1982 when he was offered the lead role in John Badham's War Games. Costner promptly turned it down, opting instead to play the role of Alex in Lawrence Kasdan's The Big Chill.

Unfortunately for Costner, most of his scenes ended up on the cutting room floor. The exception? He is visible (briefly) in one scene... as a corpse!

[Kasdan later made amends, casting Costner in Silverado. War Games, however, made Matthew Broderick an overnight star.]
